Fieldworks

In the summer of 2024, we conducted a sampling campaign in Germany and Poland along the ice margin associated with the penultimate glaciation. Specifically, we followed the ice-marginal zone interpreted so far as belonging to the Late Saalian (possibly MIS 6?).

Some photos from the sampling campaign in 2024:

  • We plan two main fieldwork campaigns: the first one to sample boulders potentially left by the penultimate (Saalian) ice sheet and the second one to sample boulders potentially left by the last ice sheet in the vicinity of its maximum extent.
  • The first sampling campaign is planned for 2024 and the second one for 2025.
